Well, we’ll are aware of the recent news all around the nation regarding Budget Session 2022. So let’s have a small sneak peek into a few of the key takeaways:

  • Infrastructure

  • The National Highway network will be expanded by 25,000 km.

  • 400 new generation Vande Bharat trains to be brought on track.

  • Education

  • Digital University will be established and to be made in different Indian languages.

  • The skilling programs will be reoriented, and a digital DESH e-portal will be launched.

  • Defence

  • The defence R&D will be opened up for startups, private industry and academia.

  • E-passports will come with an embedded chip.

  • Developments on the digital front

  • RBI will ‘Digital Rupee’ using blockchain technology.

  • Customers have to pay a 30% tax on crypto income.

  • Auctions for the 5G airwaves to start in 2022.

  • Health and Sanitation

  • National Tele Mental Health program to be set up to focus on mental health.

  • The National Master Plan on Expressways will be formulated in 2022-23

  • 100 Gati Shakti cargo terminals to be brought on track in the next 3 years.

  • Agriculture

  • Chemical-free, natural farming will be promoted across the country.

  • Kisan drones will be used for crop assessment and spraying of pesticides

  • Education

  • One Class, One TV channel will be expanded from 12 to 200 TV Channels in all regional languages.

  • This has been done to ensure the provision of supplementary education for loss of formal education due to Covid.

  • Defence

  • Private industry will be encouraged to take up design and development of military platforms and equipment.

  • Tax, economy and finance

  • The alternate minimum tax has been reduced from 18.5% to 15% for cooperative societies.

  • The surcharge has been reduced to 7% for those cooperative having income 1 to 10 crores.

  • Tax deduction limit for NPS account of state govt employees to 14%.

  • Custom duty on cut and polished diamond has been reduced to 5%.
